DUST-IN The WIN

今年美聯沒有壓倒性的 MVP 人選，今天有點意外聽到 Dustin Pedroia 繼金手套和銀棒獎之後更拿下了 2008 年的 AL MVP，印象中紅襪球員很會拿獎，然而 Pedroia 拿的是自 1995 Mo Vaughn 以來第一座年度 MVP，近十年人氣明星 Pedro, Nomar, Manny, Ortiz 都沒為球隊拿過的最大獎。

Wow～ 我認為 Pedroia 能解決球隊向來不確定的二壘位置至少 10 年，不過沒想到一個 5'8" 的球員 ceiling 這麼高！！！

對於 Pedroia 的實力應該沒什麼馬後炮了，倒是我印象最深的是他被 call up 前的那一天報導：

OTTAWA -- Sins of commission, sins of ommission. The Pawtucket Red Sox found a way to commit both in last night's doubleheader with the Ottawa Lynx, and paid for that with twin losses, 6-3, and 1-0, before 2,577 at Lynx Stadium.

In the opener, Pawtucket made four errors, all of them leading to unearned Ottawa tallies. Then in the nightcap, the PawSox stranded seven runners and wasted what had been a stellar effort by starter Rob Henkel.

Missing most of the fun was shortstop Dustin Pedroia, who served as designated hitter in the opener (going 0-for-2) before he was ordered pulled by the Boston Red Sox. Peoria was called up and will make his major-league debut upon joining the club today in Anaheim today.

"I'm excited," said Pedroia, who hit a team-high .305 with 5 homers and 50 RBI. "It's an opportunity I've been waiting for my whole life. I can't wait until I get there, and do anything I can to help them win."

過去 Pawtucket 寫的那篇更好，大致是說因輸球臉色難看的 Pedroia 到了球賽後段突然浮現笑意，大家湊過去問他什麼事，他始終微笑不語，把一個年輕人實現夢想前夕的心情表達的非常傳神。
